Back to '89
Those old enough to have started their air-cooled VW journey in the mid-to-late 1980s will instantly recognise this iconic Beetle from back in the day. Originally built by Silly Sid, this bug features a de-chromed, colour-coded chassis and has been completely rebuilt to bring it up to today’s show standards.

Running with the original Cal-look theme, we made a flip up tank so the detailed suspension could be seen and painted it in Porsche Magenta. We then repaired the chassis and painted it in the same colour,

The engine was re-detailed back to how it used to be when the car was first built. The square alternator back plate which had been missing for some time, was also reinstalled. Great care was taken to preserve as much of the car's original graphics as possible, using careful masking and repainting techniques to maintain its authenticity.

Over time the wood in the roof had buckled so we welded in wire mesh instead, to create a stronger structure.
